22 February 2007. A great night for Flux in Games 5 and 6 of PUL 27 getting our first double win night.
Game 5 was up against UWA with Flux winning 10-6.
Game 6 resulted in a hard fought 12-7 win to Flux over Fear with the game getting to 6-6 and then 7-7 before Flux scored the last 5 to run away with the game.
The sweetest part of the night was that we took stats for both games, goals and assists. These will be displayed shortly on the Results page.
14 February 2007. Another 1 win, 1 loss night tonight for Flux. We scored a fantastic 13-6 victory over Subliminal in Game 3 before going down to Mu-Tang Clan (Murdoch Uni) 7-8 in Game 4.
There was, however, some contention over the Mu-Tang Clan game with Flux scoring the "last point" to even the match after the siren before being told we needed to play another point as you cannot have a draw. Obviously we could have just refused, but given that we wanted to go for the win also, we couldn't really complain. Unfortunately, we lost.
8 February 2007. PUL 27 kicked off last night with an almighty bang. It feels good to be back out on the field again. So after the first 2 games of the season FLux is 1-1. We beat Fear 9-5 in Game 1 but then lost to Sunset Coast 4-8 in Game 2.
Last night we were also lucky enough to welcome Isobel 'Killer' MacAulay and Richard 'Carnivale' Edwards to our line-up for PUL 27.
Highlight of the night for me was the absolute screamer of a pack grab by Fan in the centre of our defensive endzone. This was immediately followed by a fast-paced 5 metre hammer/knife pass to a moving and not entirely prepared target. Thankfully Ross was up to the task of taking the catch. This is now the official team "get out of trouble" throw.
31 January 2007. The warm-up games for PUL27 were held tonight with the League proper starting next week, 7 Feb 07. Unfortunately we lost both our games tonight, going down to Subliminal and then Sunset Coast. Of course, our plan was to lull them into a false sense of security...
The Flux team for tonight consisted of Anna, Nat, Emily, Carl, Mike, Andrew, Ross, Fan, Noodles and Denyer - a line up guaranteed to become a power force in the competition come next week. Go Flux!
Highlight of the night was Ross getting 2 handblocks in a row. He's certainly set a high standard for the rest of the season now.
